Dr Satya studied medicine in India, then migrated to England to pursue surgery. He trained with the Royal College of Surgeons in England and worked in General and Vascular Surgery. Later in 2007 he settled in New Zealand with his family to enjoy a more balanced work and family life. Dr Satya has experience working across; General Surgery, Urology, Vascular Surgery and then later progressed into Cardiothoracic Surgery after achieving his PhD in 2013.

During his doctoral study, Dr Satya secured more than $2m towards his research through the HRC Fellowship with his research highlighted in TED talks. He also gained honorary lectureship for teaching final year medical students, and as an examiner for the University of Auckland. In 2014, 2015 and 2017 he was recognised with prestigious awards from the College of Cardiac Surgeons. His recognition continued in Adelaide in 2017 as an invited guest speaker at the Cardiac Surgery meeting for the Royal College of Surgeons.
Throughout his career so far, Dr Satya has performed numerous General Surgical & Cardiovascular surgeries, Heart & Lung surgeries and Plastic Reconstructive surgeries. Currently Dr Satya is a DHB approved Surgeon for performing complex reconstructive skin cancers. Dr Satya also has an interest is in clinical echocardiography, for which he is allied with the University of Vienna. He performs bedside echo as well as comprehensive echocardiograms.
His passion for surgery has augmented and is expanding by exploring other surgical areas e.g., hernia repairs (no mesh Shouldice, Mc Evady and Bassini’s repair), operations on lumps and bumps which includes the breast, haemorrhoid (piles) banding (includes sigmoidoscopy), circumcisions, vasectomies (no scalpel, no needle), loup assisted vasectomy reversals and a multitude of plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures (simple & complex flaps, skin grafts). Dr Satya is also currently exploring minimally invasive varicose vein therapy (laser vein treatment or EVLT) and in the future will offer these services to the wider community.
Dr Satya is well known to the Pasifika community for his efficient professional surgical skills, offering affordable circumcisions in Henderson, West Auckland. Overall, Satya loves performing high quality surgeries which is his passion. As well as performing surgical services, Dr Satya sees patients as a GP Physician.
