Dr Matthew Wu

Dr Matthew Wu is a dedicated General Practitioner with a strong foundation in family medicine and a passion for holistic, patient-centred care. He graduated from Chung Shan Medical University, Taiwan, in 2017, and completed his Family Medicine Specialist Training with the Taiwan Association of Family Medicine at a University Medical Centre, Taipei in 2022.
After completing his specialist training, Dr Wu worked for the next three years at a primary care clinic in Taiwan, where he provided comprehensive medical care to patients across all stages of life from paediatric to geriatric care. His clinical expertise includes the management of acute and chronic conditions, preventive health care and long term continuity of care.
Dr Wu’s clinical interests include Family Medicine, Preventive Medicine, and Functional Medicine, as such an integrated approach. He believes in treating the whole person, addressing not only physical health but also emotional and psychological well-being.
A visit to New Zealand fostered a deep appreciation for the country and he chose to relocate. He is committed to contributing to the health and well-being of the New Zealand community. Fluent in Mandarin and Fukien, Dr Wu offers culturally sensitive and accessible care, ensuring clear and respectful communication for patients from diverse backgrounds.
Outside of medicine, Dr Wu enjoys reading, travelling, cooking, and exploring philosophy, pursuits that reflect his curiosity and balanced approach to professional and personal life.
